Cedar Grove's new Recycle Coach app gives residents pickup reminders and clearer guidance on what belongs at the curb.

The Township of Cedar Grove launched Recycle Coach, a mobile application that sends reminders for garbage and recycling pickup days while providing clear guidelines for what materials are accepted. Residents download the free app, create an account with their address, and receive notifications tailored to their collection schedule. The service eliminates confusion about which materials go where and when to place bins at the curb.

"Managing household waste can be complicated with different rules for recycling versus garbage," said a township official. "This app puts clear, easy-to-access information right in residents' pockets." The app also connects users to special recycling events throughout the year, including hazardous waste and electronics collection days run by Essex County.

Residents can download Recycle Coach from any major app store and set up an account in minutes. For Cedar Grove households juggling busy schedules, the reminder service means less guesswork and fewer missed pickups. The township continues to emphasize that recycling is mandatory for all residents and businesses under New Jersey State Law.
